The gameplay of Balls 2004 recalls classic puzzlers such as Lines and Brick Buster, but you literally cannot win. The board is filled with colored circles. To remove them, you swap their locations so they form a horizontal or vertical line of three or more matching circles. After those balls clear, however, more drop in to fill those empty spaces, and the game is on again. Instead of playing to clear the board, therefore, you must keep going and rack up points. No new challenges or bonuses appear when you hit certain score levels, and the game offers few options.
