Recovery Mechanic starts as a wizard that allows selecting a disk for deleted files search. Then the recovery engine takes over. All recoverable files are presented in folders in a double-pane window. The program creates virtual folders as well as recovers the names of existing ones. Its main window has a customary explorer-like interface with a standard choice of controls and view options. When recovering big partitions, its search option helps browsing through numerous folders and files. As soon as the drive scan is finished, all recoverable folders and files are saved.
